Over time, UV exposure and heat cause the flame retardants in vintage plastics to turn yellow or brown. Our professional Retrobrite service uses a controlled peroxide and UV light process to significantly reduce or completely remove this yellowing, bringing your hardware back to its former glory.

How It Works

1. Contact Us First: Please contact us with images of your device/s prior to ordering so we can assess the plastic.
2. Ship Your Item: Securely pack your console or shells and send them to our workshop.
3. The Treatment: We perform a multi-day treatment and will update you on the final condition.
4. Return Delivery: We ship your refreshed console back to you!

Realistic Expectations

While the Retrobrite process is highly effective, the final result depends heavily on the type of plastic and the severity of the original damage. Most items return to their original factory color, but some deeply "sun-baked" plastics may retain a slight tint or inconsistencies. To ensure this service is right for your device, we must see photos of your items in advance. Please contact us here before placing your order.

Deep Cleaning Included

To achieve the best results, all plastics must be surgically clean before the chemical process begins. As part of this service, we thoroughly deep-clean your console shells to remove decades of dust, oils, and grime, ensuring the peroxide and UV light penetrate the surface evenly for a consistent finish.

Choosing Your Service Option

• Shells Only: Select this if you are sending us just the disassembled plastic pieces.
• Full Disassembly: If you cannot safely disassemble your console, you must select the "Disassembly" variant when ordering.

Please Note: This service does not include electrical work. We do not power on or test consoles; they are returned in the same functional state they arrived in. If you require repairs, please also purchase our Console Appraisal Service.

We offer discounted rates for customers who prefer to do the technical teardown themselves. Please select the correct variant from the dropdown menu:

• Retrobrite (Shells Only): Choose this for the lowest price if you are sending only the plastic housing with all electronics, screws, and metal shielding already removed.
• Retrobrite & Disassembly: Choose this if you are sending a complete console. Our team will professionally disassemble, treat, and reassemble the unit for you.
