Use the Xbox Power Protection Cord to replace the original power cable that came with you Xbox console. This is a safer power cord ensuring there is no spark or fire to the console.
Make sure the connections to the TV are all complete. Fully insert the Xbox Power Protection Cord to the console and TV, then test the unit.
