Believe it or not, but there are many variants of the SEGA Master System controller. The variations are generally focused on the DPAD with subtle changes.
Standard - Has a flat DPAD. There are some variations in this design so each unit will vary.
Joystick top cable - Has a detachable joystick installed in the DPAD.
Joystick side cable - Has a detachable joystick installed in the DPAD, but the cable is coming out the side of the controller. This the oldest version!
