What is this console?

Finding functional Xbox consoles with DVD drives that can still play games has become quite challenging. Repairing these DVD drives has become increasingly difficult, and we’ve accumulated a significant number of broken consoles. As a solution, we decided to modify the consoles by adding a boot chip and upgrading to a larger hard drive. These modified consoles are set to boot exclusively into mod mode. This allows users to easily copy files onto the hard drive and play them directly from there, rather than relying on DVDs. We offer these consoles specifically for the purpose of playing legal homebrew files such as controller testing tools. While it is possible to load games onto the drive, we explicitly don't endorse this use case or take any responsibility for your actions.

This console will boot to a custom dashboard by default, not the original screen. The DVD drive has been REMOVED and we have installed an upgraded, larger hard drive.

Retrosales.com.au does not condone software piracy, so you will need to seek out homebrew yourself in "XBOX HDD ready" format and FTP the files over to the XBOX console yourself. We will not assist with this process.
