Sony PS One Console

Combo LCD Set Boxed Japanese

The PS One (PSOne) is a smaller, redesigned version of the original PlayStation PS1 console. It was released in 2000 and went on to sell very well. The PS One is fully compatible with all PlayStation PS1 software, but compatibility with peripherals may vary.

We currently have a boxed Japanese version of the PSOne in the rare Combo set with the LCD screen included in the box. In 2002, Sony released this special version with a 5-inch (130 mm) LCD screen. The LCD screen was also sold separately as a standalone add-on. Note: You cannot play PAL games on this, only Japanese games.

Console Pack Comes With:

Box packaging SCPH-140

PSOne console SCPH-100

LCD Screen SCPH-130

Controller SCPH-110

AV cable

Power adapter cable SCPH-120 (Japanese)

Grading notes: This is in exception condition for its age. The console and LCD work well and still have the plastic protector on the LCD. The box has some wear but overall this is an excellent item in top shape.

POWER - All Japanese consoles use 100v AC from the wall to run their power supply.

You can not simply plug them into an Australian power outlet using a travel adapter, etc as this will send 240v AC into the power supply and blow it up. We call this "magic smoke"

Q. How to run a Japanese PlayStation in Australia?

A. There's two solutions for this problem.

1. Purchase a stepdown transformer and plug the PlayStation power supply into it. This device is sometimes called a stepdown converter which will accept the 240v high voltage in Australia and lower it to a safe level for the Japanese PlayStation to use. We recommend you buy this one on eBay as we've tested it and it's good. (This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated) You will also need to buy a Japanese or USA power cable as the power pins are different to Australian ones.

2. A simple option would be to purchase an Australian PlayStation One power supply and use that instead.
