The main purpose is to provide the ability to play both SNES and NES games with one single console.
The reason why you would want to buy this is so that you could play a series of different NES and Famicom on your SNES console!
The Tri-Star is a unique adapter designed for the Super Nintendo, which allows you to play NES games on your PAL SNES Console. It's also known as the Super 8 video game accessory.
Simply place the TriStar adaptor in the cartridge insert on the top your SNES console, then place your desired cartridge in the designated slot, and plug the TriStar adapter into the console port.
Once you turn on your SNES console, you'll have the option to select which gaming system you would like to activate - then start your playing!

| Front slot | Closest to TriStar logo | This acts as a region control pass through slot. So if you have a PAL SNES, you need to install a PAL SNES game here for the region check. |

NOTE: Never insert NES and Famicom carts at the same time! Only ever use one 8bit cart when powering on the unit as the 8bit cart slot data bus is shared.
